What Can I Do To Protect Myself Right Now?

(Defensor: Latin for defender, champion, warder, Protector, Guardian, advocate. Keep this in mind for every time I address you as such.  That is what you’re here to learn how to be right?)

peppersprayHello Defensors!

Before the close of the day, I wanted to give you a training that was one of the first that I gave to my very own daughter before she went off to college.  This is a training that you can use today!  It is an item that you can order online or get at your local sporting good store.  The use is simple and there need not be any long exercise training or work out.  You need’nt be strong or be a martial artist in order to execute this defense.  Warning!!! Keep this spray away from children and if this spray is accidentally discharged and it get’s onto the skin, or into the eyes, it can be damaging or can cause an allergic reaction and is extremely painful.  It is usually an oil based chemical and is not easily rinsed off.  To begin removal of the spray, one should use a dish soap and water mixture that breaks down oily substances. You may need to call 911 or see an emergency room if exposed.  Be careful to avoid spraying this into the wind or around those who are down wind if you can help it.  Make sure that you can use it per your own States law as well.  Chances are, if you can buy it in a credible sporting good store, it is legal in your State.  Please watch this video compliments of 360 Tactical Training.  I hope it helps.

Why I Started A Self Defense Website

If you’re reading this, you must be aware that all too many people have been harmed by perpetrators who set out to steal, harm or hurt the innocent.  I can’t hear about one more victim without doing something about it.
My name is Roy Shaw.  I’m a husband, daddy and retired U.S. Army combat medic.  I’m also a licensed Paramedic and an educator and am currently working on advanced belts in both Tae Kwon Do and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu.

The reason I started this website has a great deal to do with the fact that I have a family and I would never want them to be harmed in any way. I’ve come to realize that though we can’t always prevent bad things from happening in every situation, we can definitely prepare ourselves in order to stack the deck in our favor! To make it out alive and as well as possible, that’s a good goal to have.

I’ve read one to many articles about how someone was victimized.  If at all possible, I want to help stop that from happening.  I know that there are thousands of self defense videos on the internet, but I wanted to make sure that you had a website dedicated to great training that was organized, effective and credible.  My experience as an educator and eLearning expert drove me to believe that I could apply my online educational experience and techniques to this very important subject and possibly save you or someone you know from a preventable assault, injury or death.

I hope that this website helps prepare everyone young and old, to be able to defend themselves. The goal of this website is to help train and educate people so that they will not suffer preventable loss. I believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I also realize that in a busy life style, going to a martial arts school or a one time short self defense class may not be in your time budget and probably will not work. This should not stop you from learning how to protect yourself today!  That’s why I designed this website to be available for you when you have the time to learn. I will offer custom and procured video trainings that will be high quality, practical and effective. I will offer both basic and advanced advice for all types of scenarios.

Please ask any questions you have via email, Twitter and Facebook. Feel free to share this website with anyone you think will benefit from it.  The training videos and updates will be sent to you when you subscribe via email or twitter. I’ll look forward to answering any questions you may have to the best of my ability, and when I can’t answer it, I’ll do my best to find an expert who can.

I’m honored to have the opportunity to help.

Be Safe, Secure and Peaceful.
